Kofi Kingston’s Total Assets: $3 million
Kofi’s family immigrated to the United States when he was three years old. He obtained his degree from Boston College and initially held an office job before pursuing a career in professional wrestling. Kofi made his debut in 2006 on the independent circuit, wrestling for various organizations such as the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Millennium Wrestling Federation, New England Championship Wrestling, and Eastern Wrestling Alliance.
In 2006, Kofi signed a developmental contract with WWE and joined Deep South Wrestling under the ring name Kofi Nahaje Kingston. Although his debut resulted in a loss against Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP), he continued his appearances in DSW until the early part of 2007. He also made appearances in Ohio Valley Wrestling before competing against Charlie Haas on “Raw” and returning to developmental. He later adopted the name Kofi Kingston and made appearances in Florida Championship Wrestling during 2007.
After extensive promotion on the weekly show “ECW”, Kofi made history as the first Jamaican to wrestle for WWE in January 2008. He initially appeared in a few matches before being featured in the 24-man battle royal during the pre-show of Wrestlemania XXIV. Kofi maintained an undefeated record in ECW, momentarily, before engaging in a feud resulting in a loss against Shelton Benjamin. During the 2008 Supplemental Draft, Kofi transitioned to Raw and competed against Chris Jericho, securing the Intercontinental Championship. He later lost the belt during Summerslam in a tag-team match against Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix. Subsequently, Kofi partnered with CM Punk and together they became the World Tag Team Champions; their reign ended when they lost the belts to John Morrison and The Miz. Kofi then attained the United States Championship by defeating MVP and successfully defended the title in multiple pay-per-view events until it was eventually taken by The Miz after four months. Kofi later engaged in a rivalry with Randy Orton, gradually increasing his total assets.
In 2010, Kingston moved to Smackdown and claimed his second Intercontinental Championship at the Over the Limit pay-per-view before surrendering the belt to Dolph Ziggler, and their ongoing rivalry saw both wrestlers exchanging titles. He was then transferred back to Raw as part of a draft and became the WWE Tag Team Champion with Evan Bourne, while also forming a partnership with R-Truth. He was involved in several feuds and championship pursuits, facing off against Cesaro, The Miz, and Randy Orton.
Subsequently, Kofi formed a tag team with Big E, and later teamed up with Xavier Woods, establishing the group known as The New Day. They successfully won the WWE Tag Team Championships and maintained their reign for several months between 2015-2016, breaking records along the way. Kingston achieved the longest combined-reigning tag team champion with a total of 483 days, before relinquishing the title in November 2016.
Concerning his personal life, Kofi has been married to Kori Campfield since 2010, and they have two children. He also has a strong affinity for Jamaican reggae music, particularly by Damian Marley.
